OCIEL BETANCOURT, PT, DPT
OCIEL is a Doctor of Physical Therapy supported by more than 35 years of experience in Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, Neuromuscular Therapy, Pain Management, Chronic pain, Maxillofacial Dysfunction, and Manual Therapy. He holds a Doctor’s Degree of Physical Therapy from the University of St Augustine in Florida. He strongly believes in the concept of evidence-based practice and has continuously pursued further education in Spinal Manual Therapy, Temporomandibular Disorders, Chronic pain, Orthopedics, and Sports Medicine in his belief that therapists are uniquely qualified to administer treatment for neuromuscular skeletal conditions with a combination of motor diagnosis, manual intervention and a prescription of exercises.
He has developed strong therapy skills with a special interest in motion dysfunction of the craniocervical, cervical-thoracic and lumbopelvic spine as well as injuries of the upper and lower extremities. His expertise lies in the manual application of graded mobilization combined with neuromuscular re-education.
SERGIO holds a Doctor’s Degree of Physical Therapy from the University of St Augustine in Florida and he has over 33 years of experience in the rehabilitation field. His main areas of expertise are Parkinson’s and its related disorders, Stroke and Multiple Sclerosis, Balance and Vestibular problems, and Alzheimer’s disease.
He is a certified Neuro-Development treatment therapist trained in Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) and he also holds certifications in Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention, Vestibular Disorders and Dizziness, Adapted Tango for Parkinson’s, The LSVT Big Program for Parkinson’s and the Neurodevelopment treatment for adults with Stroke.
Sergio strongly believes in the concept of evidence-based practice and the new exciting research in neurologic rehabilitation, the reason for which he has accomplished great success in his therapies.
